Meet Kimberly Prohaska, PhD
I'm Kimberly Prohaska, PhD, a scientist, scientific communicator and founder of BridgePoint Scientific. For more than 20 years, my career has centered on understanding complex science, solving technical problems, and translating scientific insight into meaningful action.
My experience spans academic and biotechnology research, mammalian cell culture, cell line and upstream bioprocess development, and scientific and technical communication. Over the course of my career, I've worked across laboratory, customer-facing, and cross-functional environments, supporting scientists, technical teams, commercial organizations, and biotechnology customers around the world. I founded BridgePoint Scientific to bring those experiences together. My goal is simple: to provide organizations with experienced scientific support when they need it, whether that means solving a development challenge, strengthening a scientific story, or turning complex data and ideas into clear, actionable communication.
At the heart of BridgePoint Scientific is the ability to understand the science first and build the solution from there.

2000-2014
From Scientific Research to Biotechnology
My career began in academic research, where I developed a strong foundation in microbiology, cell and molecular biology, experimental design, and scientific problem-solving. I later brought that foundation into biotechnology, expanding my experience in assay development, therapeutic research, grant writing, and scientific communication. That research background continues to shape how I approach complex technical questions today: understand the biology, follow the data, and build solutions from the science.
BIOPROCESS DEVELOPMENT AND INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE
2015-2025
From Bioprocess Development to Global Customer Support
At Thermo Fisher Scientific, I spent a decade working across cell line and upstream bioprocess development, with a focus on CHO cell line development, media and feed optimization, process troubleshooting, and experimental strategy. My work expanded beyond the laboratory to include direct collaboration with biotechnology customers around the world, cross-functional technical support, and the development of scientific content and applications data. These experiences strengthened my ability to connect deep technical understanding with practical solutions that address both scientific and business needs.

I founded BridgePoint Scientific to bring together the different parts of my career: scientific research, bioprocess development, customer collaboration, and scientific communication.
Today, I work with biotechnology and life sciences organizations that need experienced scientific support without necessarily needing another full-time resource. Whether the challenge is technical, strategic, or communication-focused, I bring the same approach to every project: understand the science, identify what matters, and develop practical solutions that move the work forward.
